Daniel grew up in Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, about 10 miles from Detroit. His father is from Bombay, India, and his maternal grandparents immigrated from Mexico. Daniel studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at MIT. After finishing his Master's degree in 2005, Daniel joined a Boston-based internet security startup, SiteAdvisor, with the goal of keeping people's computers safe on the internet. The company was purchased by McAfee in 2006. Commuting between Boston and Rochester, at McAfee Daniel manages a development team in Bangalore, India, and works on web crawling and data analytics. Daniel's hobbies include playing piano, learning the guitar, following the Red Sox, and working on various electronics projects.
