Arriving in the area: By Air: The closest airport is the Hartford Bradley International Airport (BDL), about a 30-minute drive away. Driving from the airport, follow the signs to I-91 South via CT-20. Take exit 35B (CT-218). Turn right on CT-218 and continue to follow for 1.5 miles. Turn left at Blue Hills Ave/CT-187. Follow CT-187 for 2.5 miles. Turn right onto US-44 and drive for 8 miles to reach Avon. By Car, from Boston and points East: Take I-90 to Exit 9/I-84 West. Take exit 50 off of I-84 to US-44 West. Follow US-44 West for 9.5 miles into Avon. By Car, from New York and points South: Take I-684 North to I-84 East. Exit at CT-4 (Exit 39) and follow CT-4 West 2 miles to CT-10. Turn right (North) onto CT-10 until it intersects with US-44 in Avon. By Car, from points West: Take I-90 East into Massachusetts. Take Exit 3 (US-202/CT-10). Follow US-202/CT-10 South for 24 miles until it intersects with US-44 in Avon.
To the Church: The wedding ceremony will be held at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church, located at 226 Lovely St., Avon, CT 06001. The church is 9 miles West of Hartford and 16 miles Southwest of Bradley International Airport. Follow Route CT-10 towards Avon to Route 44/US-202 West. After 4 miles, turn left onto Lovely St (CT-177). After 2 miles the Church will be on the left. From the Church to the Reception: The reception will be held at 71 Highridge Rd, West Simsbury, CT 06092. From the church, turn right on Lovely St. After 2 miles, continue straight through the intersection with US-44/US-202 onto Lawton Rd. Immediately bear right where the road forks, continuing on Washburn Rd. Washburn becomes Notch Rd which becomes W Mountain Rd. Turn left at the next major intersection onto Westledge Rd (CT-309). After half a mile, Westledge Rd splits from CT-309, forking to the right. Continue 2 miles on Westledge Rd until it ends, forming a loop with Highridge Rd. Continue to 71 Highridge Rd. Parking is available anywhere along the street. |
